Since childhood, Susant Chakma form Arunachal Pradesh, dreamt of providing quality education to children. In 1994, the ban on education to the Chakma and Hajong children by the State govt. concretised his dream. He realised that education is the tool to build the capacity and confidence of child, who intern brings about a positive ripple effect in the society.
With this strong belief, SNEHA was formed. SNEHA is an NGO, focussed on supporting the underprivileged society to attain quality education. In July 2003, with the support of National Foundation for India (NFI), SNEHA started its first school at Diyun in Changlang District in Arunachal Pradesh.
Dhriiti provided a comprehensive enterprise incubation service which helped SNEHA in measuring and enhancing their strength by studying existing system. Dhriiti also analyzed SNEHA’s leadership; audited and recommended changes in financial, administrative, communication and fundraising system; developed organization strategic plans for financial, project management, HR & Admin system.
At present, SNEHA is running 3 schools at Diyun, Bijoypur and Dharampur of Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh and providing value based education to more than 1100 students from underprivileged communities. To impart education and create a profound impact on the lives of the children, SNEHA today is supporting students with scholarships to pursue post-graduation
