She is young and energetic. She has been in the developmental sector long enough to be exposed to a lot of existing social issues. During one such work experience, Yuveka Singh was essentially fascinated by the power of storytelling, mythology and old tales had on children.
Storytelling was an exploration for herself and she explored both the theory and practical nuances of storytelling. Soon she landed in Delhi, and felt the strong urge to tell stories of Delhi. But these would not be just stories, Yuveka wanted to create an aura of experience for her audience. And hence Yuveka, conceived the idea of Darwesh.
Darwesh curates unique and engaging walks and tours for travellers that preserves and showcases the heritage and culture of a city. An intrinsic quality of these performances, is the local flavour with the “behrupiyas”, walks around the nooks and corners of the city, interactions with local communities, explorations of lesser known monuments and streets, performances by theatre, folk and other traditional artists.
Dhriiti is currently working with Yuveka to re-model Darwesh’s organizational and marketing strategy and implementation. The incubation process is helping her to develop a FSE-ible model with better systems for implementation, organization development, and a robust value chain. Under Dhriiti’s guidance Yuveka is now looking into activities like promoting awareness on conservation of natural resources including the river Yamuna and also awareness promotion on the preservation of architectural heritage including cultural & historical heritage.
