Dhriiti believes that a Value Chain can be called so if it is creating transformative change and creating value for each stakeholder in the process. This process is long drawn and takes time to be built hence it is also a belief to patiently build structures such that the system and the value chain would sustain without the presence of Dhriiti. Dhriiti sees this sustainability as a non-negotiable.

The process of Transform has been structured in a fashion that it would enable any ecosystem to build sustainable FSE value chains providing livelihoods and skills to the larger populace. It is this transformative development methodology that is the core of Dhriiti’s Transform.

FSE is just not a belief in Dhriiti, it is a value. And this value becomes the core of all activities that is undertaken in Dhriiti. Hence it is imperative that balancing the Financial, Social and Ecological (FSE) impact becomes a core objective of the value chain that is built. Dhriiti invests in building practices at each level of operation and market interaction which are FSE Impact Balanced.

The process involves not only making every stakeholder aware of the values of FSE but to also convince them and make it a part of their value system (quite often it is already there, it is just articulated more effectively). It is important as a process to imbibe the same because the three aspects are closely tied to the operations and the entire value chain would collapse without the presence of any of them.

Dhriiti believes that human beings are the most important constituents of any value chain. Building capacities to enhance livelihoods of the human capital is one of the most important constituents in building a sustainable and transformative value chain. This is primarily the reason there is immense amount of training and development with every stakeholder at different stages in the value chain development. It includes training of the Dhriiti team in aspects of work where the expertise lies with the stakeholder groups.

Trainings are a part to capacitate individuals in varied aspects of the value chain from R & D to effective mobilization to operations and marketing. This is where the skilling and the competency enhancement of the involved stakeholder is done. One of the important competency that Dhriiti focusses is on understanding and implementing FSE.

Dhriiti believes that once a value chain is identified and structured, there is a need to work closely with the different stakeholders to co-create the structural infrastructure for the initiative to be launched. It is imperative that no process of building a transformative value chain can be driven by a single institution/entity. It is always a collaborative process with defined win-win for all.

This belief system enables the process to bring in varied stakeholders to create their space within the larger structure to achieve the larger objectives of the value chain being built. Co-creation also means co-ownership/shared ownership, which is crucial for not only sustainability in the long run but also objectivity in the short term.

This co-created basic becomes the strong base on top of the foundation to support a structure of the desired outcome of the value chain.

Dhriiti believes that every place and every community is lush with resources (Natural, Physical or Human) but somehow these resources are not identified and recognized as an opportunity for building enterprises. The first phase of Dhriiti’s work in Transform is to identify potential enterprise value chain by evaluating the resources (Natural, Physical or Human) available. The strengths and weaknesses of the different stakeholders in the value chain is also assesses to identify a potential micro-enterprise value chain.

The process of transformative value chain creation is a long term process and a lot needs to be invested in building the structure for the same over a period of time. Hence Dhriiti invests a lot of time in doing research, feasibility, resource mapping and process streamlining even before they start building the value chain process. This is where the foundation of the structure is created.

A lot of opportunities and ideas come to the transform phase through the incubate category. Dhriiti invests in ideas and enterprises from the incubate phase who have transformational possibilities.
