She made clothes from the lotus stems extracted manually and also sells lotus tea.

Sarah Phangchopi

Sarah is the founder of Klarjir Mukak, a detergent industry in the conflict-torn Karbi Anglong district of Assam. The work is backed by the strong engagement with SHGs(Self Help Groups) and CBOs(Community Based organizations)which were formed and trained on income generating activities like rearing livestock, detergent making, candle making initiated under the Rural Livelihood project in Karbi Anglong. Through Her&Now, Dhriiti provided linkages to financial assistance.

Sansri is the founder of Hathai, the first e-commerce platform for the Bodo community. Hathaiis a Boro word for market or bazaar. Hathai was born as an e-commerce platform solely dedicated to promote and support Bodo communities like single mothers, unemployed Indigenous communities of North East and enable rural artisans, craftsmen, small time rural sellers a unique and healthy environment to sell & promote their creations on larger platforms.

Through Her&Now, Dhriiti assisted Sansri in finding her niche business which she’s currently working on. She identified her strength and explored online marketing.

Rithika is the founder of Freebirds, a travelling school. The business model revolves around providing edu-travel services to travellers who have come from high profile universities to study Northeast and want to learn by volunteering or conducting/attending workshops and also provide customized modules to schools and institutions. The target customers include youths from India and abroad- travelling to Northeast for sabbaticals and self-exploration and based on their needs, Freebirdscharges commission for facilitation and logistics handling. Through Her&Now, Dhriiti provided new linkages to Rithika, she also got selected for Young Social Entrepreneurs Workshop 2020 Young Social Entrepreneurs (YSE) workshop 2020 is organized by Singapore International Foundation.
