It also provides pick-up and home delivery service with an affordable price. It provide quality products to ensure clean washing of clothes as well as household retail products to meet the demand for easy access for the neighbourhood.

Leitam Chanu Olivia

Leitam Chanu is working on the idea of starting an organic food based enterprise. Her plan is to start a system of circulating semi-organic and organic products in the market and to operate in physical stores, home delivery as well as online.

Since the production of organic produce is time consuming, she intends to start with semi-organic and then later gradually shift to 100% organic. The products will be procured from farmers’ cooperative.

With an educational background in agriculture and agronomy, she has developed her idea from her training at Biotech Ecosolutions.

She procures all her products from rural artisans of Assam which are hand-woven. All her products are eco-friendly and contributes to providing sustainable livelihood to the rural artisans. Noopur also engages with rural artisans and gives training on skills.

Niharika is the founder of Craft Concept, started in late 2019. It is a home based sole proprietorship business located in Guwahati, Assam, India. The business offers wide range of handicrafts ranging from macramé items, quilling and paper craft, toys and Miniatures out of clay, costume Jewelry, custom envelopes, Packaging boxes and home décor items.

Niharika’s vision is to be known as a unique brand for offering a diverse range of handcrafted souvenirs, memorabilia and home decor pieces with a distinct North East Indian identity. Apart from showcasing its products through trunk shows, Facebook and exhibitions, Craft Concept runs on the make-to-order (MTO) basis, wherein the orders are customized according to customers’ requirements. Customers so far have been close friends, relatives and people who came to know of the products through word-of-mouth publicity.

Ngaizahat (Ahat) is the proprietor of Genesis Tailoring Centre (GTC) which is  not only manufacture wearing  apparel (except “fur” apparel), custom tailoring, manufacturing ‘Readymade Garments but also provides Skill Development Training on Tailoring, Hand Embroidery, Applique Works, Wool Knitting, Handicrafts etc. It also conducts both Centre and State Government departments sponsored Vocational Training Programmes on Tailoring and Embroidery. “Genesis Tailoring Centre”(GTC) is an unit duly registered under  District Industries Centre (DIC) Imphal East, Government of Manipur;  UDYOG AADHAAR   and  Imphal Municipal Council.

Neha Nialang

Neha has started a food preservatives venture called Dalade in Jowai. Dalade is a “local first” brand, involved in the production of 100% natural foods preserves. With an aim to encourage the traditional farming of seasonal produce, they are working to promote the sustainability of local farmers by procuring best crops directly from the farmers while also ensuring good prices for their harvest. The main goal revolves around ensuring the availability of healthy, seasonal and natural products in the local as well as international markets while supporting the farmers through sustainable economic practices. The range of gourmet foods are handmade in small batches using natural ingredients and zero preservatives. Each batch is made with 100% pure & fresh produce, minimum sugar, and lots of care, we bring the best and fresh of the season.

Her vision is zero wastage of farmers produce and reduce wastage of the produce by increasing shelf life through value addition. While doing so, she also wants to ensure that the best gourmet food from the kitchen reaches the kitchen cabinets of India. She is fine with taking her business slow, and is open to exploring various models to structure her business.

Mridusmita Barooah

Mridusmita is working on her idea of “Nature’s Bliss’ that is into organic products. She has recently completed her engineering degree from IIT, and is an aspiring entrepreneur that will utilize the materials which will be having medicinal values (aloe vera, neem and basil leaves are among the few) to develop cosmetic products having high value. She is planning to develop home-grown, 100% organic and green products with a holistic approach for the development of a healthy, sustainable lifestyle for the purpose.

She does not have much knowledge on business planning, operations, sales, etc. She is also engaged part time with NIT as a lecturer supplementing her income. However, she is very keen on starting this enterprise, and is working hard to make the business plan and projections.

Mousumi Rabha is a part of 3 SHG’s in Boko (Assam) which has recently started sesame seed cultivation. She is yet to see herself as a business person. However, she is interested in becoming an entrepreneur to supplement her household income. She has to be nudged to think of her activities from the business point of view. She speaks Assamese / Rabha.

Momy Saikia

Momy is working on a technology for rapid processing of organic waste into manure without using micro-organisms. AnM.Sc in Embedded Systems Engineering, UK and BE Instrumentation & controls systems engineering, India, she wasalso the  winner of Women Entrepreneurship and  Empowerment (WEE), IIT Delhi and DST (2020). She is an alumni of the US Department of State’s Professional Fellowship Exchange Program for  emerging leaders (2019).  She was also shortlisted amongst top 130 women entrepreneurs  for Women Transforming India awards 2019  hosted by NITI Aayog and United Nations

She has worked as a Subsea Engineer in the Global (Aberdeen, Houston, Stavangar) Oil and Gas Industry before embarking on an entrepreneurial journey. Globally less than 1% of the subsea Engineers are females.

For her current venture, she wants to operate within waste management, and is mostly trying to explore the right technology and manufacturer who could help her kick-start the business.
