Bano Fatima

19 years old Bano Fatima, enrolled for Entrepreneurs for Tomorrow Program organised by Dhriiti.

while pursuing her Bachelor’s in Political Science at Delhi’s Lady Shriram College.

After graduation, Bano pursued her project the EOT Program and collaborated with Nabila Kidwai to establish Weavers Hut, with the aim to strike at the root of social discrimination and economic exploitation that is experienced by the artisans.

Weaver’s Hut is a social enterprise dedicated to empowering artisan communities in the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh. Weaver’s Hut was formed to work with vulnerable families, primarily women on their socio-economic development and also to promote education for the future generations.

The weavers’ community weaves cotton and viscose fabric and stoles using the handloom structures. It is a traditional art, existing in the community for generations. With textile mills taking the lead and lack of support from government, the traditional art suffers from intense competition, often losing out.

Today, with support from Dhriiti, Weaver’s Hut has become the platform that is empowering the weavers’ community through socio-economic interventions, including production process interventions, social development and education based-initiatives.

Yuveka Singh

She is young and energetic. She has been in the developmental sector long enough to be exposed to a lot of existing social issues. During one such work experience, Yuveka Singh was essentially fascinated by the power of storytelling, mythology and old tales had on children.

Storytelling was an exploration for herself and she explored both the theory and practical nuances of storytelling. Soon she landed in Delhi, and felt the strong urge to tell stories of Delhi. But these would not be just stories, Yuveka wanted to create an aura of experience for her audience. And hence Yuveka, conceived the idea of Darwesh.

Darwesh curates unique and engaging walks and tours for travellers that preserves and showcases the heritage and culture of a city. An intrinsic quality of these performances, is the local flavour with the “behrupiyas”, walks around the nooks and corners of the city, interactions with local communities, explorations of lesser known monuments and streets, performances by theatre, folk and other traditional artists.

Dhriiti is currently working with Yuveka to re-model Darwesh’s organizational and marketing strategy and implementation. The incubation process is helping her to develop a FSE-ible model with better systems for implementation, organization development, and a robust value chain. Under Dhriiti’s guidance Yuveka is now looking into activities like promoting awareness on conservation of natural resources including the river Yamuna and also awareness promotion on the preservation of architectural heritage including cultural & historical heritage.

Amit promoted ROSE Academy when he was only 19 years old.Very early in life he had realised that most villagers owned land and money but lacked literacy especially computer skills. They were  also ignorant of the need for computer skills and the transformations that computer skills could bring in their lives.

Deep Jyoti Sonu Brahma

One is a keen student of Public Policy in the North East and another is an advocate of education & organic farming of North East. But what binds them is their decade long friendship, passion towards organic farming and drive to “enable unemployed youth to become farm & food entrepreneurs and build a peaceful and prosperous North East”

With this burning passion, Deep Jyoti Sonu and his friend, started their entrepreneurial journey to transform farming into a viable and sustainable livelihood in North East India. Thus it is a one stop solution for the farmer working on the forward and backward linkages.

Farm2Food began with a team of committed individuals and experts coming together to set up a model that could offer organic farming training, marketing linkages, and community development in the rural Assam.

Dhriiti has worked closely worked with the duo to re-model their business, organizational and market models, and set up systems and processes for an effective operational strategy. The resulting FSE-ible models has enabled the organization to promote entrepreneurship in farming amongst farmers, women and young people on a large scale.

Anirban Gupta

During my bachelors in economics and my higher studies in Rural Management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar; economic development and well-being of the people had slowly become my passion.

After my studies I initially took a campus placement in a reputed development sector organization, however I was very restless about the fact that young people like us with management degrees were waiting for the government and others to create jobs for us or to initiate and implement the changes we wanted in the society and economy of our country. I became an entrepreneur to live my dream and to motivate/instigate hundreds and thousands of other young people to their dreams and create a better world.

I wanted to do it myself in whatsoever small way I could make a change in the system, in people’s mindsets and the country’s future. I wanted to reach out to the youth in my country in the villages and in cities to share my dream of an entrepreneurial and economically robust nation state and I became an entrepreneur to do the same..
